Saving Your Information in Your H:\ Drive

This guide is to help you move your files and information into your personalized H-Drive. The reason for this process is to ensure that when you are updated to Windows 11, you can keep your files and data.

Transferring files to H-Drive

Step 1: On your Desktop Screen, Right click an empty spot on your screen, select “New”, and then “Folder”.

Step 2: Once you see the new folder icon appear on your desktop, you can start dragging your desktop files into the new folder.

Step 3: After all your files are in the folder, right clock the folder and press “Copy”. Then you will go to your H-Drive and right click on an empty space to paste the folder.

Step 3.1: Locate your H-Drive by navigating to your “File Explorer”.

Once there, you are going to scroll down to “This PC” and single click on it.

From there, you will see your H-Drive. Double click your H-Drive to access it.

Step 4: When transferring your files from your desktop to your H-Drive, make sure to check your Downloads folder and ensure anything you need is also transferred over.

Step 5: Open your H-Drive and find your desktop folder.  Right click on it and select “Send to” Desktop create shortcut.
